Bring Home the Beauty of a Traditional Victorian Christmas

Our tin icicle ornaments are designed to last for generations and become a cherished holiday tradition in your home.

Made from tin plated steel, these icicles offer a sustainable and elegant alternative to disposable plastic tinsel.

Eco-Friendly Holiday Décor That Truly Lasts

Most Christmas tinsel is plastic — used for a single season, then tossed.

Tin is different.
It’s a naturally durable metal that keeps its shine year after year. With proper care, you can use these ornaments for decades, creating a more sustainable holiday tradition.

We use tin plated steel for the following reasons:

  • Maintains its mirror-like silver shine
  • Reusable every year
  • Fully recyclable

Choose décor that looks beautiful and reduces waste.

Durable, Reusable, and Low-Maintenance

Our tinsel is designed with longevity in mind.

Simply hang it on your tree, enjoy the silver shine, and pack it away until next season—and the next, and the next. Our tinsel’s durability means you can decorate sustainably without sacrificing beauty or tradition.

A Brief History of Tinsel

Tinsel has been adding sparkle to Christmas trees for centuries. It originated in early 17th-century Germany, where it was made from thin strips of real silver hammered into delicate strands. Families used it to reflect candlelight and create a magical, shimmering effect. Today, traditional metal tinsel is rare—but its nostalgic charm endures. Our tinsel carries on that old-world tradition while offering a durable, eco-friendly alternative to the disposable plastic versions found in stores.

  • Zero-waste households

Each set comes in a reusable glass jar that keeps your tin tinsel protected, organized, and ready for next year. Pair with simple paper or fabric wrapping for a beautiful low-waste presentation.

Caring for your Tinsel

Tinplate is extremely slow to tarnish if properly maintained. It offers better corrosion resistance than bare steel, but the same care procedures should be followed. Try to keep your tinsel dry wherever possible and avoid exposing it to high humidity. With that said, we have customers that prefer the “used” rustic look and don’t mind leaving them placed outside or in humid environments. If the product needs to be cleaned, wash it with a soft cloth and non-abrasive cleaner immediately after use. Dry immediately after washing to prevent rust.

Customer Love

I bought the Victorian Christmas Tinsel almost 40 years ago at a “home party” of some sort. As others have mentioned, the tinsel is as sparkling today as the day I bought them.

– Linda

I just bought these, and they’re awesome! I only bought one jar because I wasn’t sure how it would look. It’s WAY better than the plastic stuff, and cheaper in the long run since it’s reusable.

– James

I bought these 20+ years ago. These tinsels are just as beautiful now as when I bought them. Everyone who sees my Christmas tree asks where I found them, I give them this website.
